In-demand Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has told Barcelona that they will have to wait a little while longer before he makes a decision on his next career move.
The Dutch centre-back is coveted by some of European football's biggest clubs, including the likes of Barca, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
Reports coming out of Spain earlier this week suggested that a £51m switch to Camp Nou is close to being finalised, but the 19-year-old wants to wait until the end of the season before agreeing to anything.
Ajax are still in Eredivisie, Champions League and Dutch Cup contention, and those three competitions take priority for De Ligt.
"What's going on? Nothing at the moment," he told the Dutch news outlet Veronica Inside. "I'm playing with Ajax, we've just beaten FC Emmen, we are in the final of the KNVB Cup and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
"With that there is already more than enough to play for [before making a decision]."
Barcelona have already reached an agreement to sign De Ligt's teammate Frenkie de Jong in the summer.
