Gareth Bale's proposed move to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning was reportedly abandoned due to his family's reluctance to uproot their lives to China.
Zinedine Zidane, who views the Welshman as surplus to requirements at Real Madrid, publicly stated earlier this week that Bale was on the verge of leaving the club.
The winger was set to sign a three-year deal with Jiangsu under which he would have earned £1m a week, but the move broke down yesterday due to Real demanding a bigger transfer fee.
According to the Evening Standard, Bale's proposed move to China was jettisoned after his partner voiced her reservations about uprooting their young family to Asia.
Bale has three children aged between one and six, and enjoys the weather and lifestyle in Spain alongside its proximity to Wales, where he also has a home.
Jiangsu had been hoping to capture Bale on a free transfer, but Los Blancos are holding out on a fee of £20m for the 30-year-old, whom they signed for £85m in 2013.
