Jese Rodriguez has revealed that he is relishing the competition for places in the Real Madrid XI.
The Spaniard came off the bench to score the winner against Valencia at the weekend, but he has been linked with a loan move away from the club in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old forward, however, has claimed that he wants to remain at Los Blancos and battle for a regular spot in the team.
"There is a lot of competition in the squad because we have world-class players; you have to respect everyone else and slowly work your way into the team," Jese told reporters at a press conference.
"It is clear that I wanted to stay here and I am showing that. The coach is giving me some pitch-time and being great with me and I am thankful.
"When I scored, I looked for [Zinedine] Zidane because he supports me every day. Now I have to keep working hard and helping the team."
Jese came through the club's youth academy.
