Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane reportedly regards Lyon youngster Amine Gouiri as the long-term successor to Karim Benzema.

Lyon forward Amine Gouiri has reportedly been identified as the long-term successor to Karim Benzema at Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed a legendary career at the Bernabeu, scoring 230 goals from 453 appearances in all competitions.

However, while the Frenchman continues to lead the line for Los Blancos, it appears that Zinedine Zidane is thinking about his eventual replacement.

According to reports in Spain, Real may make an approach for Gouiri, despite the youngster not being handed a start in Ligue 1 since breaking into the first team.

The 19-year-old has made just one start and 10 substitute outings in all competitions, with just two of those appearances coming during the current campaign.

The prospect currently has just under two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.
