Mariano Diaz 'to leave Real Madrid for £13m'

A report claims that Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz will leave the Bernabeu in a £13m deal this summer, with Espanyol and Malaga leading the race.

Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz will reportedly leave the Bernabeu in a £13m deal this summer.

The 23-year-old scored five times in 14 appearances for Real Madrid last season, although just one of those efforts came in La Liga.

The Dominican Republic international joined Real Madrid from Badalona in 2011, and scored 27 times in 33 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla before stepping into the first-team picture last summer.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that Mariano would leave the Bernabeu on loan for the 2017-18 campaign, but according to Marca, the forward will depart on a permanent basis for a figure in the region of £13m.

The same report claims that Espanyol and Malaga have been in contact since the end of last season.

Liverpool have also previously been credited with an interest in Mariano.
