Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has entered talks over a contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions, according to his father Neymar Sr.
Neymar joined PSG for a world-record fee of £198m in the summer of 2017, but speculation quickly emerged claiming that he regretted leaving Barcelona and wanted to return to Spain.
Injuries and PSG's failure to make significant progress in the Champions League were understood to have increased Neymar's desire to leave, with Real Madrid thought to be leading the race for his signature.
However, the Brazilian's father dismissed reports that Neymar could join Los Blancos this summer and revealed that he may instead be in line for a new contract at PSG.
"There has been speculation about his name since he was 17, since he made his professional debut . Neymar has made two transfers in his life, but we are speculating for 10 years. The probability of him not going is very high," Neymar Sr told UOL.
"He is in the second year of his contract. So, he has more than three years left on this contract and we are already talking about a renewal with Paris Saint-Germain. People say that Neymar is always rumoured to be going to some big club in the transfer window. This means it is good career management.
"He is always among the names. If there is any important signing, Neymar is involved. Thank God! But this does not mean that he is going to move to one club or another."
Neymar's two seasons in the French capital have been disrupted by injuries, but he has still scored 48 goals in just 53 appearances for PSG.
