Andrea Pirlo plans Juventus stay

Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo reveals that he is hoping to come to an agreement with the club and extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season.

Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has revealed that he is planning to stay at the Serie A champions, despite his current deal being set to expire at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old veteran has been a key player in Juve's back-to-back league titles and the club are keen to keep him.

There has been talk of a potential move to Real Madrid in the summer, but Pirlo has made it clear that he is hoping to reach an agreement to stay at the Juventus Stadium.

"I just want to be a protagonist, as long as I feel up to it, which I hope is as long as possible," Pirlo told reporters.

"I've talked to Juve and we'll meet up to define the details, but there are so many games at the moment, so it's better to focus on them.

"There are all the conditions needed for me to stay: Juve are growing and we can achieve great objectives. President Andrea Agnelli always left the door open for anything I needed, from day one, so I thank him."

Pirlo joined Juve in 2011 after 10 years at AC Milan.
