Bayern Munich reportedly set a deadline for Alphonso Davies to make a decision on his future, amid speculation regarding a transfer to Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich are reportedly eager for Alphonso Davies to make a decision regarding his long-term future.

The left-sided player has enjoyed a hugely successful stint at the Allianz Arena, collecting five Bundesliga titles and a Champions League crown among his silverware.

Furthermore, he has made 184 appearances since his first outing for Bayern in the 2018-19 campaign, remaining first choice at left-back or wing-back.

However, the Canada international has reached a stage of his career where he is contemplating his options, a consequence of less than 18 months remaining on his contract.

Having only turned 23 years of age at the back end of last year, Davies does not necessarily have to be in a rush for a change of scenery, yet admirers are naturally emerging from elsewhere.

Most notably, Real Madrid are said to have identified Davies as one of their primary targets for the summer transfer window and are ready to negotiate a deal.

That is despite a recent report indicating that Los Blancos officials are willing to remain as patient as possible in order to ensure that Davies reaches the correct decision over his future.

Nevertheless, from Bayern's perspective, they are eager to protect themselves from losing one of their key men for a cut-price fee or on a free transfer in 2025.

According to Sky Sport Deutschland, Davies and his representatives have been informed that Bayern want an answer regarding their offer of a new contract within the next seven days.

Bayern are said to have offered Davies the opportunity to sign fresh terms that would last until 2029 and would hand him approximately €14m (£12m) per year.

Whether Davies will abide by that deadline remains to be seen, the player himself not obliged to meet those demands until the end of the season should he so wish.

That said, it is further claimed that Davies is eager for a deal that is worth €20m (£17.2m), a substantial increase on what is currently being offered.

Instead of attempting to reach a compromise, it is suggested that Bayern are adamant that their current proposal is 'appropriate' and they have no intention of succumbing to Davies's demands.
