Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly close to signing a new contract with Real Madrid running until 2018.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly close to signing a new contract at the Bernabeu following months of speculation surrounding his future.

Recent rumours had suggested that the Portugal captain was ready to reject new terms with the Spanish giants.

While Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were thought to be ready to pounce for the star, it is understood that Ronaldo will sign a new deal with an improved wage packet running until 2018, according to Spanish TV station La Sexta.

Reports have claimed that the new contract will include financial bonuses relating to number of goals scored, securing title victories, and if he is crowned the Ballon d'Or winner.
