Real Madrid will allegedly make another attempt to sign Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies after the Copa America.

Real Madrid will reportedly make another attempt to sign Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies once the 2024 Copa America has concluded.

Davies has helped Canada reach the semi-finals of the competition, with the national side set to face Argentina on Tuesday evening for a position in the final.

The 23-year-old has played every minute of Canada's Copa America campaign to date, sporting the captain's armband in the process, and he entered the tournament off the back of making 42 appearances for Bayern during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring three goals and registering six assists in the process.

Davies has less than 12 months left to run on his contract at Allianz Arena, and Real Madrid are believed to be huge admirers of the full-back.

There had recently been claims that Los Blancos have cooled their interest in the defender, with the capital giants seemingly prepared to stick with Ferland Mendy at the back next term.

Real Madrid 'still want to sign Davies this summer'

However, according to AS, Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Davies's performances at the Copa America.

The report claims that Carlo Ancelotti's side will wait for the completion of the tournament before stepping up their attempts to sign him, having first made contact with Bayern earlier this year.

However, Real Madrid are allegedly prepared to wait until next year to potentially sign Davies on a free transfer, should Bayern decide against selling him during the current market.

Last month, it was reported that Real Madrid would be willing to pay a fee in the region of €40m (£33.7m) for the full-back during the summer market.

Davies arrived at Allianz Arena from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2018, and he has represented the Munich giants on 195 occasions, scoring 11 goals and registering 31 assists in the process.

Who else will Real Madrid sign this summer?

Real Madrid have already completed a deal for Kylian Mbappe, with the France captain arriving at Bernabeu on a free transfer this summer.

Mbappe will be joined in the Spanish capital by Endrick, with the Brazil international's switch from Palmeiras set to be officially completed on July 21.

Real Madrid are also being heavily linked with Lille centre-back Leny Yoro, with Ancelotti's side seemingly firmly at the head of the queue for his signature.

Manchester United and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Yoro, but the 18-year-old has allegedly made it clear that his preference is to make the move to the Spanish and European champions.

Toni Kroos has retired from professional football this summer, but Real Madrid are not expected to sign a direct replacement in the current market, with Jude Bellingham instead likely to drop back into central midfield after operating as a number 10 last term.
