Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has revealed that his club are still "negotiating" with Real Madrid over a loan move for the Spanish outfit's young striker Borja Mayoral.
Mayoral, 19, broke into the Los Blancos first team last season and ended the campaign having scored once in six appearances for the capital outfit.
Wolfsburg were believed to be close to taking the striker on loan, but it is understood that the Bundesliga side want a future purchase option included in the deal before signing on the dotted line.
"The Borja Mayoral deal is still not finalised. We are negotiating because he is a great player that had some brilliant performances in the Youth League and with Madrid's reserve team," Allofs told Kicker.
Mayoral has scored once in two appearances for Spain's Under-21 team.
