Marco Asensio hails "great keeper" Gianluigi Donnarumma

Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio says that AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma "has a great future" ahead of him, as rumours surrounding his future continue to grow.

Marco Asensio has heaped praise on rumoured Real Madrid transfer target Gianluigi Donnarumma, describing him as a "great keeper" with lots of potential.

The two men come face to face on Tuesday evening when Spain Under-21s take on Italy Under-21s in the U21 Euro 2017 semi-finals in Krakow.

Despite being fully focused on his international commitments, Donnarumma has had to contend with numerous stories in his homeland regarding his future at AC Milan, where he is about to enter the final year of his current deal.

Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with the 18-year-old, and Los Blancos midfielder Asensio has hinted that he would welcome the young stopper to the Bernabeu.

"He is a young goalkeeper, who has shown that he is a great keeper," he told reporters. "He has a great future, but he also has a great present. If he is prepared or not to play in Real Madrid, I do not decide it."

AC Milan chief Marco Fassone recently revealed that no official approach has yet been made for Donnarumma, who has already made 71 first-team appearances despite his tender age.
