Real Sociedad midfielder Esteban Granero will undergo a scan on Wednesday afternoon to determine the extent of the knee injury he suffered in the club's 2-0 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in their Champions League opener.
The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan from Championship club Queens Park Rangers, appeared to twist his knee in the latter stages of the European clash on Tuesday.
It is understood that Sociedad have carried out an initial examination of the joint, but their official website has revealed that the Spaniard will undergo further tests this afternoon.
The early indications are that the midfielder has suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage.
