Sociedad were lying 15th in La Liga with nine points from 11 matches when they turned to David Moyes.

David Moyes was named as the new coach of Real Sociedad on November 10, 2014.

The role with the La Liga side was Moyes' first job since being sacked by Manchester United the previous April after nine months in charge.

Sociedad were lying 15th in La Liga with nine points from 11 matches.

Moyes' first two months in charge in his first managerial role outside of Britain, yielded a creditable draw in the local derby against Athletic Bilbao and a memorable 1-0 January home victory over Barcelona.

But their season soon fizzled out and La Real eventually finished in a mediocre 12th position.

The Basque side started the following campaign slowly and were left above the relegation zone on goal difference following a dismal 2-0 defeat against Las Palmas.

Moyes was sacked three days later on November 9, 2015, having been in the job one day short of a year.

Former Everton boss Moyes returned to the Premier League with Sunderland in 2016, but left the following year after they were relegated.

The 57-year-old is currently in his second spell in charge of West Ham.
