Getafe have only spent one season out of Spain's top flight since 2004, so it would be a huge surprise if they dropped out of the top tier, but the capital side have disappointed in the last couple of La Liga campaigns, finishing in 15th on both occasions.
The Deep Blue Ones have also struggled at the start of this season, only picking up one point from four matches, which has left them in 19th position in the table.
Getafe opened their 2022-23 campaign with back-to-back defeats to Atletico Madrid and Getafe, conceding six times in the process, before holding Villarreal to a goalless draw at the end of August.
Quique Sanchez Flores's side will enter this match off the back of a heavy defeat, though, conceding five at Valencia last time out, and they will now take on Real Sociedad and Osasuna ahead of the international break.
Getafe held Real Sociedad to draws in both league games between the two sides last term, but they have not overcome the Basque outfit in Spain's top flight since June 2020.

Real Sociedad, meanwhile, will enter this match off the back of a 1-0 win over Man United in the Europa League on Thursday, with Brais Mendez's penalty deciding the clash at Old Trafford.
The award of the spot kick was controversial, with David Silva's strike hitting Lisandro Martinez on the leg before bouncing onto his arm, but the decision was not changed, and the Basque side have made a brilliant start to their 2022-23 European campaign.
Imanol Alguacil's side have also made a solid start to their La Liga season, picking up seven points from four matches, which has left them in ninth position in the table.
Real Sociedad started their campaign with a 1-0 victory at Cadiz before suffering a 4-1 home defeat to Barcelona in their second match of the season.
The White and Blues returned to winning ways at Elche on August 27, though, before picking up a welcome point against Atletico Madrid in the league last weekend.

Getafe will again be without Luis Milla and Omar Alderete through injury, while Mauro Arambarri is suspended due to his red card in the heavy defeat to Valencia.
The home side will also be missing Djene Dakonam due to the injury that the centre-back picked up against Los Che, with Stefan Mitrovic in line to come into the defence.
There will be changes from the side that started last time out, with Nemanja Maksimovic and Gaston Alvarez likely to come in, while Munir El Haddadi is also battling for a spot in the XI.
As for Real Sociedad, Mikel Oyarzabal, Martin Merquelanz and Diego Rico remain on the sidelines through injury, but the Basque side have not reported any fresh concerns from the Man United clash.
Umar Sadiq, who scored off the bench against Atletico, is expected to line up in the final third of the field alongside Mohamed-Ali Cho, with Alexander Sorloth likely to start on the bench.
Robin Le Normand missed out against Man United due to a knock, which could see Aritz Elustondo feature in the middle of the defence on Sunday.
Getafe possible starting lineup:
Soria; Angileri, Mitrovic, Duarte, Iglesias; Portu, Alvarez, Maksimovic, Alena; Mayoral, Unal
Real Sociedad possible starting lineup:
Remiro; Gorosabel, Zubeldia, Elustondo, Munoz; Mendez, Zubimendi, Merino, D Silva; Cho, Sadiq
We say: Getafe 1-2 Real Sociedad
Getafe will be the fresher of the two teams, but Real Sociedad will be full of confidence following their win over Man United, and we believe that the visitors will shade a close contest to put another three points on the board.
