Real Sociedad held by Osasuna

Real Sociedad are held to a 0-0 draw by La Liga strugglers Osasuna at the Estadio Anoeta.

Real Sociedad have been held to a goalless draw by La Liga strugglers Osasuna at the Estadio Anoeta.

The visitors nearly took the lead inside the first minute, but Claudio Bravo did well to force Nano's effort away for a corner.

Sociedad striker Diego Ifran should have done better 10 minutes later when he headed Carlos Vela's cross over the bar.

The home side had another good chance before the end of the half, only for Antoine Griezmann to steer his shot past the post.

While both sides were happy to attack in the opening 45 minutes, there was less excitement after the break.

Vela and Ifran linked up again past the hour, but the latter was wayward with a header for the second time in the match.

Griezmann had the ball in the net with five minutes to play, though he was correctly ruled offside by the linesman.
