Real Sociedad have agreed a deal in principle to sign Diego Reyes on a season-long loan basis.
The 22-year-old Mexico international has been granted permission by his parent club Porto to make the switch, which will be finalised following the conclusion of the ongoing Gold Cup.
Sociedad, who are coached by former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes, have confirmed that there is no agreement in place for them to sign the defender on a permanent deal.
Reyes made his Porto debut in 2013 and has gone on to feature in 23 games for the Portuguese club.
