Preview: New York Red Bulls vs. Dallas - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Major League Soccer clash between New York Red Bulls and Dallas, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Unbeaten in their last four outings, Dallas travel to the Red Bull Arena to face off against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the hosts are still searching for their first home win of the campaign and will be looking to finally break the duck at the fourth time of asking.

While they remain perfect on the road, the New York Red Bulls were beaten on home turf once again as CF Montreal ran out 2-1 winners on Saturday.

Gerhard Struber's men led at half time thanks to Omir Fernandez's opener before the game was turned on its head through second-half strikes from Rudy Camacho and Romell Quioto.

The Metro have dropped to third place in the Eastern Conference and are now six points adrift of league leaders Philadelphia Union.

Next up is the task of going up against a Dallas outfit who have won just once on their last nine visits dating back to 2007.

However, that solitary victory came in the most recent edition back in 2019, when Saturday's hosts fell to a 2-1 defeat.

Dallas recorded a third straight home triumph by seeing off the threat of Colorado Rapids in a 3-1 victory on Sunday.

Marco Ferruzzi's men trailed to Diego Rubio's opener on the half-hour mark before hitting back through Brandon Servania and Jesus Ferreira.

The Burn currently sit fifth in the Western Conference, albeit just two points shy of Los Angeles FC at the top of the standings.

Still yet to find the back of the net away from home this term, Saturday's visitors will need to get going at the attacking end if they are to secure a first win on their travels since August.

Dallas' Dominick Hernandez continues to nurse a leg injury, and the 23-year-old is ruled out for the trip to New York.

Jesus Ferreira has now scored six goals in his last three starts for club and country, making him one to look out for.

We say: New York Red Bulls 2-1 Dallas

Despite being far from their best on home turf this term, the hosts will be expected to take control of proceedings and get the job done. We are backing the New York Red Bulls to come out on top in what should be an exciting affair.
