New York Red Bulls came from behind to record a 5-2 victory over Montreal Impact on Saturday.

It was the home side who started the better and Thierry Henry and Dane Richards both came close to opening the scoring within the first 15 minutes.

Montreal took the lead, however, after 19 minutes when Sanna Nyassi found the bottom corner after good work from Josh Gardner.

Henry drew the home side level after 28 minutes when he headed home a Rafael Marquez cross.

The goal boosted New York, but Montreal were back ahead after 38 minutes when Justin Mapp struck from outside the box.

The first period scoring was not finished there, however, as Kenny Cooper converted a penalty on the stroke of the interval after Matteo Ferrari had felled Dax McCarty in the box.

The home side moved into the lead 10 minutes into the second period when Henry found the bottom corner after good work from McCarty.

The scoring was not finished there, however, as Mehdi Ballouchy added the home side's fourth after 72 minutes, before Henry made it 5-2 in the final moments.

Montreal pushed in the latter stages, but it was too little too late as the home side secured all three points.
