Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder carved out the game's first chance, but he couldn't keep it on target as he side footed wide from the centre of the box.

Reims were to make the visitors pay with their first real opportunity as former Liverpool striker Ngog lashed into the top corner after being found by fellow forward Odair Fortes.

Toulouse were the dominant side after half time and they should have found passage back into the encounter, but captain Etienne Didot headed over tamely from the centre of the box.

The visitors continued to press for an equaliser and would have found it had it not been for the inefficiency of striker Pesic, who dragged wide before also sending a relatively easy header past the wrong side of the post.

Reims put the game to bed in the final few minutes as Courtet notched his side's second of the night.
