Kamil Grosicki scores late winner for Rennes

Kemil Grosicki's long-range strike gives Rennes a narrow victory over Montpellier HSC.

Kamil Grosicki's 85th-minute goal has given Rennes their first victory of the season against Montpellier HSC.

Paul Lasne tried to give the visitors first blood just after the half-hour mark at the Stade Dele Route de Lorient, but his shot was well wide of goal.

Rennes could have led before half time themselves had Mexer headed on target from Pedro Henrique's corner.

Stade went close again midway through the second half as Benjamin Andre brought the only save of the match out of Geoffrey Jourdren.

However, the Montpellier keeper was finally beaten with five minutes left when Grosicki let fly with a shot from distance, which spectacularly found the top corner.

Grosicki almost added a second in the dying moments, after latching onto Wesley Said's pass, but Rennes did enough to secure their first points of the campaign.
