Saint-Etienne held by Rennes

Saint-Etienne miss the chance to enter the Champions League places as they are held to a 2-2 draw at Rennes in Ligue 1.

Saint-Etienne have failed to enter the Champions League places with a 2-2 draw at Rennes in Ligue 1.

Romain Danze headed the home side into a 44th-minute lead before Yohan Mollo drew the visitors level almost instantly.

Julien Feret got Rennes in front again on 51 minutes when he capped a quick break by firing into the top corner.

However, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang secured a point for the visitors with 65 minutes on the clock when he tapped in Mollo's cross from close range.

The draw has kept Saint-Etienne in fourth place in the table, while Rennes stay in eighth spot.
