Reported knee and calf injuries reportedly prevent Shay Given from taking part in Republic of Ireland training this afternoon.

Shay Given has once again missed Republic of Ireland training ahead of their Euro 2012 opener against Croatia on Sunday afternoon.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper is believed to be nursing a knee injury that has limited his ability to train over recent days.

Despite the problem, Given did manage to feature between the posts for 45 minutes during Ireland's 0-0 draw with Hungary yesterday evening.

It has also been speculated that the 36-year-old has picked up a calf problem.

Should Given fail to prove his fitness ahead of the weekend, Keiren Westwood and David Forde will battle it out for the goalkeeper gloves.
