Liam Brady: 'Republic of Ireland will miss Robbie Keane'

Former Republic of Ireland international Liam Brady pays tribute to Robbie Keane.

Former Republic of Ireland international Liam Brady has admitted that the team will miss Robbie Keane "badly".

The Los Angeles Galaxy star, who is the country's leading goalscorer, announced his retirement from the international setup today.

"He's been a great goalscorer for Ireland, a great player for Ireland," Brady told RTE. "He has a great goal-scoring record, up there with the very best in the world.

"I think there's only [Miroslav] Klose, in modern-day footballers, who is better than Robbie. So I think that says it all. We're going to miss him and miss him badly."

Keane, who has netted 67 times for Ireland, will make his final international appearance in a friendly against Oman next week.
