Martin O'Neill is reportedly the only candidate being considered to become the new manager of the Republic of Ireland.
Giovanni Trapattoni left his role with the nation by mutual consent earlier this week, leaving the FAI to begin the search for a replacement.
According to Sky Sports News, Irish officials have targeted O'Neill and talks could be held imminently.
The former Sunderland man is said to be interested in the role, which would be his first since leaving the Stadium of Light earlier this year.
