Atletico Madrid keep the pressure on La Liga leaders Barcelona with a comfortable 4-0 win over nine-man Sevilla.

Atletico Madrid have temporarily moved level on points with La Liga leaders Barcelona thanks to a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Sevilla.

Radamel Falcao gave the hosts a 20th-minute lead from the penalty spot after Federico Fazio was shown a red card for his foul on the Colombian striker.

Their advantage was doubled with five minutes left to play in the first half when Arda Turan's deflected effort found its way past Andres Palop.

The match was all but over moments before the half-time whistle as Koke powered home a loose ball in the Sevilla box.

It was nearly 4-0 midway through the second half, but Diego Costa's drive came back off the crossbar.

A bad night for Sevilla got worse in the final five minutes when Ivan Rakitic picked up his second yellow card of the contest for kicking out at Thiago.

Madrid made their numerical advantage count in injury time as Miranda tapped in from close range.
