Roma captain Alessandro Florenzi bemoans missed chances

Roma captain Alessandro Florenzi bemoans his team's inability to take their chances during the second leg of their last-16 Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Roma captain Alessandro Florenzi has claimed that his team were not 'precise enough' during both legs of their last-16 Champions League clash with Spanish side Real Madrid.

Roma matched Real Madrid for long spells of both matches and had a whole host of chances during the second leg at the Bernabeu on Tuesday, before eventually losing 2-0 on the night.

The Spanish giants ultimately progressed by four clear goals, but Florenzi has claimed that his team could have caused a shock if they had been more precise in the final third of the field.

"We had many chances in the first leg and we had many chances today, but if you don't score you can't go through. Sometimes it doesn't depend on experience, you just have to be more precise," Florenzi told UEFA.com.

"It's a pity, if we had been more clinical it could have been another story. We played two good games, we played our football very well."

Real Madrid and Wolfsburg are the first two teams in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season.
