Player Ratings: CSKA Moscow 1-1 Roma

Sports Mole rates the players of the Champions League Group E match between CSKA Moscow and Roma at the Arena Khimki.

CSKA Moscow scored late on to claim a 1-1 draw with Roma in their Champions League match at the Arena Khimki.

Francesco Totti fired Roma ahead from a free kick, but in stoppage time Vasili Berezutski's cross missed everyone and ended up in the net to level the scores.

Here Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed during a crucial 90 minutes.

CSKA MOSCOW:

Goal

Igor Akinfeev: Could not have done anything about Totti's brilliant free kick, but made an important late save to deny Ljajic which kept his side in the game. (7/10)

Defence

Mario Fernandes: Had a decent game and made sure that Gervinho struggled to get in behind him down the right. (6/10)

Vasili Berezutski: Scored the equaliser deep into stoppage time, although it was a rather fortuitous goal. Did not enjoy his best game at the back, but was a driving force in ensuring his team claimed a point. (7/10)

Sergey Ignashevich: Allowed the Roma attack to get in behind him on a couple of occasions, but was not put under too much pressure. (6/10)

Georgy Shchennikov: Solid display on the left, although Florenzi got past him quite easily in the early stages. Improved as the game wore on. (6/10)

Midfield

Alan Gzagoev: Looked to be one of CSKA's players most likely to get on the scoresheet. He should have found the net in the final minute when he miskicked from a few yards out, but his team were not made to pay for his blunder. (6/10)

Ahmed Musa: Positive influence for the home side. Caused plenty of trouble down the right wing and looked lively before he was replaced in the closing stages. (7/10)

Aleksandrs Cuana: Not the most influential game for the midfielder, who struggled to get on the ball due to Roma's dominance. (6/10)

Roman Eremenko: Another who failed to have a big impact on the match. Did not see much of the ball and struggled going forward. (6/10)

Bebars Natcho: Battled well for the ball in the midfield and looked to start his teams attack from deep. (6/10)

Attack

Seydou Doumbia: Had a great chance to give CSKA the lead, but missed when faced with just the keeper to beat. Found it hard against Manolas and Astori, who dealt well with his physical threat. (6/10)

Substitutes

Zoran Tosic: Helped his team to put pressure on the Roma defence late on. (6/10)

Georgi Milanov: Came on just past the hour mark and slotted well into the midfield. (6/10)

ROMA:

Goal

Morgan De Sanctis: Made a great save to deny Doumbia in the first half, but will be disappointed that he allowed Berezutski's cross to miss everyone and end up in the far corner. (6/10)

Defence

Alessandro Florenzi: Was forced to play at right back due to a number of injuries, but performed admirably in an unfamiliar position. He made some great runs down the right and won the free kick that Totti scored from. (7/10)

David Astori: Solid performance from the defender who made sure that no-one got in behind him. Was strong in the air and made some vital challenges. (7/10)

Kostas Manolas: Had a fine game just like his defensive partner Astori. Blocked everything that came his way and won his battle with Doumbia. (7/10)

Jose Cholevas: Decent game from the full back, but was not troubled too much on his flank. (6/10)

Midfield

Daniele De Rossi: Dependable showing from the experienced midfielder. He rarely put a foot wrong and helped his side control the match. (7/10)

Seydou Keita: A decent if unspectacular display from the Malian, who kept things ticking over nicely in the middle. (6/10)

Radja Nainggolan: Not his worst performance, but the Belgian will be having nightmares about his missed chance. He had done everything right, but ended up putting the ball wide of the post with just the keeper to beat. (6/10)

Attack

Adem Ljajic: Just like Nainggolan, the Serb missed a huge chance to give Roma a two-goal lead when he fired straight at the keeper from close range. (6/10)

Gervinho: Quiet night for the usually energetic Ivorian. Did not see too much of the ball and he was rarely able to use his pace. Replaced by Iturbe late on. (6/10)

Francesco Totti: Roma's captain was the best player on the pitch. He scored a great free kick just before half time and played some fantastic passes to set up his team's attacks. (8/10)

Substitutes

Juan Iturbe: Played in Ljajic for the Serbian's late chance and looked lively on the ball. (6/10)

Miralem Pjanic: Was only on for the last three minutes and had little impact. (6/10)

Kevin Strootman: Came on for the final seven minutes and did not see much of the ball. (6/10)
