Brazilian defender Leandro Castan has signed a new four-year contract with Roma.
The 27-year-old has played a key role for the club since arriving from Corinthians in 2012, and his displays at the back were a big factor in Roma finishing second in Serie A behind emphatic winners Juventus.
"We are extremely pleased and honoured to have extended his contract for another two years," club president James Pallotta said in a statement on Roma's official website.
"He is one of the main reasons why our defence was so strong last season and we want them and many more with the jersey of Rome."
Castan, who has won two international caps, was not included in the Brazil squad for this summer's World Cup.
