Roma have confirmed that striker Seydou Doumbia has joined Basel on a season-long loan deal.
The 28-year-old joined the Serie A outfit from CSKA Moscow in January 2015 but has failed to establish himself in the first team, making just six starts for the club.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United, but made just three appearances off the bench as the Magpies were consigned to relegation from the Premier League.
"AS Roma can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Swiss club FC Basel 1893 for the loan of forward Seydou Doumbia for the duration of the 2016-17 season," read a statement on Roma's official website.
Doumbia had scored 84 goals in 129 appearances for CSKA before his switch to the Giallorossi.
