Steve Evans tells Millwall player to "enjoy League One"

Steve Evans reacts to Rotherham United's survival by telling Millwall striker Lee Gregory to "enjoy League One".

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has told Millwall to "enjoy League One" after his side secured their Championship status.

The 2-1 victory over Reading on Tuesday night ensured that Rotherham will avoid relegation, and Evans took time out to respond to Millwall striker Lee Gregory, who admitted earlier this week that he was hoping the Millers would "bottle it" in the final two games.

"It's my best ever result as a manager, ever. The pressure has been intense; there's not been a lot of sleep. There's been heartache," Evans told BBC Sport after his side's win relegated Millwall and Wigan Athletic.

"A Millwall player said we've not got bottle. I've got 12 bottles of pink finest Champagne and we'll be drinking them for about a week.

"Look forward to League One, son, and keep your trap shut."

Rotherham's celebrations come less than a week after they were deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player.
