Centurion Chris Wondolowski rescues San Jose Earthquakes

Chris Wondolowski scores his 100th MLS goal as San Jose Earthquakes come from a goal behind to draw 1-1 with 10-man Orlando City.

Chris Wondolowski grabbed his 100th MLS goal in helping San Jose Earthquakes to a 1-1 draw against 10-man Orlando City at the Levi's Stadium.

The veteran was on hand to roll home a 68th-minute equaliser from the penalty spot after Orlando - who had Brek Shea sent off - took a surprise lead through Kaka.

City travelled to San Jose hoping that last week's 4-0 win at Los Angeles Galaxy would prove a watershed moment in a stop-start season that is yet to yield successive victories.

However, the Earthquakes, now unbeaten in five, started much the better of both sides and almost went ahead twice within 15 minutes.

First, Shea Salinas saw his goalbound strike punched away by Tally Hall, before Matias Perez Garcia's effort from outside the area drifted narrowly wide.

It took the best part of 40 minutes for the visitors to threaten, and it came when Eric Avila fired at goal from well outside the box, but David Bingham was equal to it.

Orlando's route to victory was significantly hindered on 51 minutes when Shea was dismissed - though the disadvantage only served to spur on City.

Bingham brought down Cyle Larin in the box on 64 minutes, and Kaka converted from the penalty spot to give the visitors an unlikely lead with his fifth of the season.

The lead lasted less than five minutes, however, and Wondolowski also found the net from 12 yards after Darwin Ceren brought down Jordan Stewart inside the area.

It was one-way traffic from there as the hosts looked to make the most of their numerical advantage, but Orlando held on for a hard-fought point.
