Team News: Adam Szalai in for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Adam Szalai starts in place of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for Schalke 04's Champions League playoff first leg with PAOK.

With Klaas-Jan Huntelaar missing, Schalke 04 manager Jens Keller has handed a second start to Bulgarian striker Adam Szalai for tonight's Champions League playoff first leg with PAOK.

The Dutch striker suffered a knee injury during the opening Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg and will be sidelined for a few weeks.

Julian Draxler starts in midfield, as do Jefferson Farfan and Max Meyer, while Jermain Jones and Marco Hoger are expected to sit deep in the middle of the park.

Former Sunderland midfielder Liam Lawrence starts in midfield for the visitors.

The 31-year-old, who joined the club from Portsmouth last year, lined up alongside former Chelsea and Fenerbahce winger Miroslav Stoch.

Schalke: Hildebrand, Uchida, Matip, Howedes, Fuchs, Hoger, Jones, Farfan, Draxler, Meyer, Szalai

PAOK: Jacobo, Vitor, Lino, Tziolis, Liam, Lazar, Katsouranis, Kitsiou, Lucas, Stoch, Salpingidis
