Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Scotland could line up for Sunday's Euro 2024 clash with Hungary.

Only a win will do for Scotland on Sunday, as they bid to keep dreams of reaching Euro 2024's knockout rounds alive by beating Group A rivals Hungary in Stuttgart.

Steve Clarke's side were much improved from their opening-day hammering by Germany when taking on Switzerland in midweek, so a similar starting XI is to be expected this weekend.

However, one major change will be forced upon Clarke for such a significant match in his reign: left-sided defender Kieran Tierney succumbed to a hamstring injury last time out and will play no further part at these finals.

Watford's Ryan Porteous is also sidelined - in his case, due to a two-match suspension - so either Scott McKenna could come in to a three-man defence or the Tartan Army may instead switch to a flat back four.

Despite enduring a difficult tournament so far, Anthony Ralston is set to continue on the right flank - mostly owing to a lack of available alternatives - while captain Andy Robertson starts on the left.

Clarke recalled Billy Gilmour on Wednesday, and the Brighton & Hove Albion playmaker should again start alongside Manchester United's Scott McTominay in the Scottish engine room.

Although Ryan Christie and prolific Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland are both pushing for promotion from the bench, Gilmour and Che Adams are set to be retained.

Scotland possible starting lineup: Gunn; Hendry, Hanley, McKenna; Ralston, McGregor, Gilmour, Robertson; McTominay, McGinn; Adams
