Scotland midfielder Robert Snodgrass has claimed that he and his teammates need to be "ruthless" in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Gordon Strachan's side will face Lithuania and Slovakia over the next week as they attempt to build on their opening 5-1 victory over Malta.

When asked in today's press conference if four points was the bare minimum needed for Scotland in the next two games, Snodgrass told reporters: "I think so, yes. I think focusing on the two games we need to get off to a good start on Saturday.

"It'll be something different for us with a Saturday night game with a full crowd so we're looking forward to it. I think it'll be much like the Malta game - we need to be ruthless especially at home. We need to be patient in the game and be ruthless."

Snodgrass scored a hat-trick in Scotland's opening qualifier last month.
