Scotland assistant manager Peter Houston has remained coy on the likelihood of Steven Fletcher starting against Wales in their 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday.
The 25-year-old striker is back in the national team after 18 months following his reconcilement with coach Craig Levein.
"It's a squad game, isn't it?" said Houston. "He might be picked for two games, he might be picked for one game and he might not be picked at all.
"It's something we've not discussed yet. We have games coming up on Friday and on Tuesday and Steven is in that squad.
"Whether he plays or not, it's far too early to say. He's here in the squad and he's happy to be here in the squad."
Fletcher has played eight times for Scotland since making his debut in 2008.
