Newly-promoted Scunthorpe United have added League One experience to their squad by signing Neal Bishop.
The 32-year-old midfielder was available on a free transfer following his release by Championship Blackpool, for whom he made 33 appearances, at the end of the season.
He turned down a new contract at Bloomfield Road to step down a division and join Russ Wilcox's Iron.
Bishop previously played in the third tier with Notts County, whom he captained to a club-record run of 22 unbeaten away games across 2012 and 2013.
The former Barnet man is Scunthorpe's second signing of the summer, following the acquisition of winger Jennison Myrie-Williams from Port Vale last week.
