Newcastle United striker Pappis Cisse has withdrawn from the Senegal squad to face South Africa tomorrow evening.
The 26-year-old is currently suffering with a groin injury that he sustained during Newcastle's 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
A spokesman for the club said: "Newcastle United can today confirm that Papiss Cisse has been withdrawn from the Senegal squad to face South Africa on Wednesday.
"Having been assessed by United's medical staff, Cisse will not take part in Senegal's friendly."
Cisse's availability is believed to be doubtful for Sunday's derby fixture against Sunderland.
