Jose Antonio Reyes says that defeating Atletico Madrid and reaching the Copa del Rey final will be the "saving" of Sevilla's season.

Sevilla winger Jose Antonio Reyes believes that reaching the Copa del Rey final will redeem their season.

The Andalucian club, who host Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday, are struggling in the bottom half of the table in La Liga.

"For me [scoring] would be something beautiful," he told AS. "I hope that it goes like that and we can play in a final this year.

"That would fulfil our objective of playing in Europe next year. It would be a very important step for this dressing room, the saving of our season. We are very close if we can comeback on Wednesday against Atletico. Then, in one game, anything can happen.

"I am not going to have to wait: it will be this time, I am sure of it. Keeping them from scoring, and getting a quick goal ourselves can set us up to go through. That is the key to making the final."

Atletico won the first leg 2-1 in Madrid last month.
