Jose Castro backs Ciro Immobile to thrive at Sevilla

Sevilla president Jose Castro backs on-loan Italian attacker Ciro Immobile 'to prove that he is a great striker' at the Spanish club this season.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has given his support to Ciro Immobile, who has thus far struggled to make his mark with the Spanish club.

The 25-year-old joined Sevilla on loan from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, but struggled to settle during the early stages of the season.

An injury to Kevin Gameiro allowed the Italian to start last weekend's La Liga clash with Real Madrid, however, and the forward responded with a goal and an impressive performance.

"[Immobile] had a good game and scored a difficult goal [against Real Madrid] which proved he was a great striker," Castro told Radio Marca. "He now needs that confidence of having minutes and hopefully stays like this so he can give us a lot of joy."

Sevilla return to La Liga action away to Real Sociedad on November 21.
