Levante win five-goal thriller against Sevilla

Levante earn maximum points from their La Liga fixture against Sevilla as they win 3-2 in Seville.

Levante have enhanced their chances of finishing in the top six in La Liga this season with a 3-2 victory over Sevilla away from home.

It was the hosts, though, who took the lead in the 26th minute when Coke Andujar found the target from outside the box with the help of the crossbar.

However, Levante equalised just four minutes later when Federico Fazio brought down David Barral inside the box and the striker himself slotted home the resulting spot kick.

Sevilla themselves earned a penalty just before the hour mark when Pape Diop was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the Levante area, but Ivan Rakitic failed to convert from 12 yards.

However, Rakitic made amends for his failure from the spot midway through the second half when he slammed home from long range.

Thereafter, though, Levante stepped up their game and scored twice in quick succession to secure the points.

First, Loukas Vyntra headed home from close range in the 71st minute and moments later Simao Mate Junior turned in from just yards out after Barral had been denied by Beto.

The match finished with just 20 players on the pitch as Nikos Karabelas was sent off for Levante and Jairo Samperio was dismissed for Sevilla in injury time.
