Sevilla go top of La Liga with Cordoba victory

Sevilla go top of La Liga with a 3-1 win over Cordoba this evening.

Sevilla have gone top of La Liga thanks to a 3-1 win over Cordoba this evening.

Two goals from Carlos Bacca and an effort from Stephane M'Bia were enough for the visitors, who leapfrog Barcelona at the summit of the Spanish division, despite Borja Garcia's strike.

Colombian striker Bacca opened the scoring after just eight minutes after good work from Aleix Vidal to supply the assist.

Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder M'Bia doubled the lead on 72 minutes but the home side were back in it when Garcia reduced the deficit.

However, with two minutes of normal time remaining, Bacca claimed his second of the game from the penalty spot to wrap the points up.

Barca have the chance to regain their spot when they take on Levante this evening.
