Sevilla take all three points

Sevilla take all three points from the La liga clash against Rayo Vallecano, winning the game 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from Coke.

Sevilla have taken all three points from a tight game away at Rayo Vallecano, winning the game 1-0.

The away side had a half-chance after just four minutes through Carlos Bacca, who met a cross with his head, though his effort was easily collected by the goalkeeper.

Sevilla continued to pile on the pressure in the opening stages and came close from a corner when Ivan Rakitic met it at the front post. However, the midfielder's header went just over the bar.

Tito found some space for the home side on 24 minutes and put it a wicked cross that troubled the Sevilla back line, but the goalkeeper dealt with it to clear the ball.

Sevilla had a goal disallowed on 28 minutes, with Bacca's effort being ruled out for a foul in the build up.

Ten minutes into the second half, Rakitic had the first real chance of the game, but he couldn't find the finish after some good link-up play with Bacca.

Sevilla took the lead on 57 minutes when Coke met a Rakitic cross and headed home from close range to make it 1-0.

Rayo began to push forward after conceding in search of an equaliser, making the game a real end-to-end spectacle.

Samuele Longo had a huge chance to make it 1-1 on 76 minutes when he reacted first to a loose ball, but his flicked header was saved well.

Rakitic almost doubled Sevilla's lead just two minutes later, but he somehow managed to fire wide from close range.

Vicente Iborra was shown a second yellow card on 83 minutes for time-wasting, giving Rayo a lifeline in the last few minutes. However, they were unable to take advantage as Sevilla stood firm.
