Sevilla have sacked manager Vincenzo Montella and appointed Joaquin Caparros as first-team boss until the end of the season.
The 43-year-old was only in charge of the La Liga club for four months, but Montella failed to pick up a win in his last nine games.
The Italian coach was sacked following Sevilla's 2-1 defeat to Levante on Friday, leaving the club seventh in the table.
"Sevilla have dismissed Vincenzo Montella after the side's bad run of results," the club stated.
"After a call from club chairman Jose Castro, [Caparros] did not hesitate in accepting control of the first-team squad, as the team pushes to achieve European football in the season's four remaining games."
Caretaker manager Caparros was in charge of Sevilla between 2000-2005.
