Report: 'Grzegorz Krychowiak close to new Sevilla deal'

A report claims that Grzegorz Krychowiak is close to signing a new Sevilla deal after his Spanish club agreed to revise the release clause in the midfielder's contract.

Poland international Grzegorz Krychowiak is reportedly close to signing a new contract with Sevilla after the Spanish club agreed to lower his release clause.

The 25-year-old joined Sevilla from Reims in the summer of 2014 and made 48 appearances last season as Unai Emery's side finished fifth in La Liga and won their second successive Europa League title.

Arsenal and Manchester City have both been strongly linked with a move for the midfielder, but as it stands, he has a contract in Seville until 2018.

Talks over an extension had reportedly stalled, with Sevilla keen to protect their interest with a high release clause, but according to Estadio Deportivo, both parties have met in the middle.

Krychowiak was part of the Poland team that booked their spot at next summer's European Championships earlier this month.
