Half-Time Report: Shakhtar Donetsk lead BATE Borisov at the break

Shakhtar Donetsk take in a 1-0 lead at half time against BATE Borisov in the Champions League.

Shakhtar Donetsk are 45 minutes away from claiming top spot in Group H after taking in a 1-0 lead over BATE Borisov in the Champions League.

The Ukraine side had the lead after 19 minutes when Darijo Srna turned home inside the box after a clever cut-back from Luiz Adriano.

Adriano almost doubled the advantage immediately, but the Brazilian couldn't quite get on the end of a ball in from Taison.

Alex Teixeira then pounced on a good cross from Douglas Costa, but his effort was just wide of the left-hand post shortly before the half-hour mark.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men after Anri Khagush talked himself into a second yellow card by trying to get Adriano booked.
