Half-Time Report: John Mousinho own goal puts Sheffield United ahead

John Mousinho turns the ball into his own net to give Sheffield United a 1-0 lead over Stevenage at half time in their League One match.

An own goal from John Mousinho has given Sheffield United a 1-0 lead over Stevenage at half time in their League One match this evening.

The hosts took the lead after just 10 minutes when Mousinho turned the ball into his own net following a corner during a strong spell for the Blades.

Simon Heslop had a couple of half-chances to get the visitors back on level terms, but he fired a volley high before a cross to Luke Freeman came to nothing.

There was more bad news for Stevenage when captain Jon Ashton was forced off with an injury just 23 minutes into the clash, with Luke Jones taking his place.

The visitors continued to press, with Jimmy Smith curling the ball in from a free kick for Francois Zoko, but the striker could not head in.

There were more chances for Stevenage before the end of the half as Lucas Akins struck just wide shortly after before Freeman failed to connect with a cross from the striker.
