Southampton forward Sam Gallagher has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Sheffield United.
Gallagher has a long-term contract with the Saints but the Englishman has spent much of his career out on loan at EFL clubs, including Birmingham City during the most recent campaign.
The 22-year-old netted just six times in 33 Championship outings, but according to The Star, that poor return is unlikely to deter United.
Chris Wilder is looking to boost his options in the final third due to the exits of David Brooks and Clayton Donaldson, and that could result in an approach for Gallagher.
The former England Under-20 international still has three years left on his deal at St Mary's, leaving a loan deal more likely than a permanent switch.
