Ipswich Town are reportedly keen on the signing of Sheffield United youngster Daniel Jebbison, whose contract at Bramall Lane is set to expire at the end of the season.

Ipswich Town are reportedly interested in signing Sheffield United's Daniel Jebbison during the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old is yet to cement himself as a regular first-team star at Bramall Lane, although there are hopes for his progression towards that title in the future.

Jebbison has not featured for the Blades during the 2023-24 campaign due to a mixture of injury and illness, with routine blood tests conducted by the club revealing that he had suffered a blood clot.

There was hope from those at the Yorkshire side that the attacker would play a part in the final weeks of this season, but with just three Premier League matches left, he has not been included in a matchday squad.

During the early stages of his senior career, Jebbison enjoyed loan spells at Chorley and Burton Albion in National League North and League One respectively.

Ipswich eye move for Sheffield United Jebbison?

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Jebbison could be in line for a lucrative move away from Championship-bound Sheffield United during the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Premier League-chasing Ipswich are keen on pursuing the 20-year-old ahead of a possible return to the top flight.

With Jebbison's contract at Bramall Lane expiring at the conclusion of the campaign, he would be able to move to Portman Road on a free transfer.

Chris Wilder and Blades CEO Stephen Bettis have spoken openly of their desire to keep Jebbison at the club, however no such agreement has been put in place just yet.

It was reported earlier in the calendar year that Jebbison was refusing to sign a new deal, hoping to put pen to paper at a Premier League outfit this summer.

Ipswich close to the Premier League

Following a 98-point haul in League One and subsequent promotion last term, Ipswich are on course for back-to-back second-placed finishes under the leadership of Kieran McKenna.

Despite leading on three separate occasions at the MKM Stadium on Saturday, the Tractor Boys had to settle for a point at Hull City, however the East Anglians still have their top-two fate in their own hands.

Sitting third in the Championship standings, Ipswich know that four points from their last two fixtures will guarantee them a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Focusing on the Tractor Boys' striking options ahead of Jebbison's potential arrival in the summer, first-choice option George Hirst has just returned from a hamstring injury, whilst Ali Al Hamadi and Kieffer Moore were brought into the club during January, although the latter is only on loan from Bournemouth.
