Sheffield United have reportedly added a sell-on clause into the deal which saw youngster Nicksoen Gomis transfer to MLS side Toronto earlier this month.
The 21-year-old joined the Blades academy in 2018 and formed a key part of both of the club's Under-18 and Under-21 sides over the past six years.
Gomis also possesses slight international pedigree, having represented France Under-18s in the past while plying his club football in the youth ranks in South Yorkshire.
In early February the defender secured a switch to Canadian outfit Toronto ahead of the 2024 MLS season, as he searches for his maiden first-team opportunity.
According to the Sheffield Star, Sheffield United have inserted a sell-on clause in the deal with Toronto for Gomis ahead of any future transfers.

This would see the Blades financially benefit from the possible sale of the centre-back, who will be looking to burst onto the scene in MLS this year.
The report claims that United have not received an up-front fee for Gomis following his move to North America, although a suitable package has been arranged.
It is understood that the Blades will be paid a compensation fee once the Frenchman has featured in a certain number of matches for Toronto.
The 21-year-old played for John Herdman's side during their pre-season preparations but suffered a concussion during the friendly against Los Angeles FC earlier this month.

Consequently, Gomis was unavailable for selection as Toronto commenced their 2024 MLS schedule with a goalless draw versus FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium on Sunday.
The defender is expected to be in contention for his competitive debut for the Reds when they travel to New England Revolution on Sunday afternoon in MLS.
Yet to earn any minutes in first-team football, Gomis could be up against world-class talent in the near future, when Toronto face Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in July.
Returning to matters in Yorkshire, Sheffield United will look to close the 11-point gap to 17th-placed Nottingham Forest when Arsenal visit Bramall Lane on Monday night.
